Ricky’s passion for music ignited at a young age and by 14, he was already playing bass in a local New Zealand cover band, performing at parties and pubs. After moving to Sydney at 17, Ricky honed his craft in various original and cover bands, eventually touring the country with numerous artists across multiple genres, opening festivals with notable acts like Troy Cassar-Daley and Boston. Ricky firmly believes the bassline drives songs to great heights, and his journey from small pubs to festivals is a testament to his dedication. Ricky is Proud to provide the ‘low end pulse’ to the Nick Read Trio.

With over 40 years behind the drum kit, Luke Mollica is the rhythmic heart of the Nick Read Trio. Beginning his drumming journey at age seven and training formally since he was ten, Luke has brought his versatile talent to over 1,500 performances along Australia’s eastern seaboard. He’s played across genres from pop, rock, blues, to metal, and recorded numerous EPs and albums. Luke was also the principal of Ringo’s Music School for 22 years, fostering new talent. In addition to his extensive band and duo performances, Luke has graced numerous all-ages festivals, including the 2000 Olympic Festival and festivals in Newcastle, Dubbo, Canberra, Melbourne, and Queensland. His seasoned musicianship and dynamic drumming are a cornerstone of the trio’s captivating sound.
